MY STORY

I set up my Plastic Surgery clinic in 2013 and I quickly realised that I needed to develop my own flow of patients as I no longer had an NHS practice and the private hospitals stopped sending any patients to me.

I started by contacting the patients who had recently been to clinic to check that they had all the information they needed. I was amazed to find that many had just not got around to getting back to me and were keen to proceed. This was an instant source of cashflow.

In order to build the practice, I needed to get ‘leads’ rather than waiting for patients to contact me to book a consultation. I produced guides and leaflets that patients could download and this allowed me to keep in touch with them and a proportion of these ‘leads’ would go on to come and attend the clinic.

I also realised how important reviews are – I think we all know that, but we do not ask for them, so I started asking for reviews from patients and lo and behold, when I asked, they were more likely to give one.

This process led me to realise that if these things worked on a ‘one-off’ basis, then why not do the same thing for every patient and automate the process.

I have spent the last 10 years building automated systems in to my practice so that I get a constant flow of leads that turn in to patients.
